Today was the second day of the winter mountaineering course i am working on this week for Glenmore Lodge. Heavy snow overnight meant that the ski road was closed this morning with stranded vehicles on the road beyond the ski gate. We completed two sessions at the Lodge before walking from the centre towards the Chalamain Gap. Along this journey there are excellent sites for climbing and building anchors on grade 1 ground and building snow shelters.
The only route i know that was completed today was Fingers Ridge. It is currently snowing very heavily with only light winds which therefore should?mean some excellent ski touring conditions tomorrow.
