On Monday I travelled through to Saas Grund to meet Mountain Guides Owain Jones and Kevin O’Neale and Kevin’s team of seven climbers. We used the Saas Grund system to access the Triftgletscher and look at some Ecole De Glace skills. We stayed at the Hosaas Hut overnight with the intention of climbing the Weissmeis on Tuesday. Unfortunately, poor weather meant this was not an option. When the weather cleared late morning we climbed the Jagihorn.On Wednesday, we used the Aiguille Du Midi lift system to access the Midi Arete and the Cosmiques Hut. Today, we climbed Mont Blanc Du Tacul. The summit rocks were very Scottish, with a good covering of rime and a few mixed moves to gain the summit cross.
