7th and 8th July 2012 Ailefroide, Les Ecrins

Back in paradise this weekend. Rosie and I have been in Ailefroide which is located in Les Ecrins near Briancon. Ailefroide is one of my most favourite places to spend time in the world. It has a superb ambiance, brilliant rock climbing and mountaineering and lots of amazing weather. We had a great couple of days doing both single and multi pitch rock routes upto 180 metres (seven pitches) in length. The longest valley routes here are twenty pitches in length. We were using Jean Michel Cambon’s guidebook, Escalades Autour D’Ailefroide.
