Malcolm, Pamela, Iain and I have just spent the last three days traversing from Chamonix to Champex but addding in some variations to the classic Haute Route.
The first day we headed from the Montet station to the Argentiere hut. The second day we headed over the Col Du Chardonnet before leaving the crowds to continue via the Fenetre Du Tour, the summit of the Tete Blanche and the Col Du Tour before arriving at the Trient hut.
On the last day we headed in the opposite direction from those doing the Haute Route to climb the Roc Des Plines before rejoining the normal route to Champex.
