5th July Pinnacle Ridge Garbh Bheinn

Wilson, Bob, Lindsay from the Falkirk Community Trust and I were out on the classic scramble of The Pinnacle Ridge of Garbh Bheinn in Ardgour today. This is a great hill with stunning views, good scrambling and some excellent rock climbs. We were joined by John, Craig and Nigel from the Trust who were doing some staff training on looking after people on this sort of terrain.

The weather was kind to us. It was hot and sunny on the walk in, but stayed dry right to the summit of the hill where we had a light shower. On the walk down over the Sron a Garbh Coire Bhig we got the odd heavier shower, these turning thundery as we neared the bottom. The easterly wind was light, but enough to keep the midges away.

The route was dry with just the odd bit of seepage in places and some soggy turf and even the walk in through Coire an Iubhair wasn’t too boggy.
