Saturday 19th January

Davy V was out on Ben Nevis today and climbed Tower Scoop. He reports that the ice was good but it was a wild day today on the Ben with fresh snow and significant windslab. Therefore, they decided not to continue to Good Friday Climb which had been their original intention.

Tony and Adam were in the Northern Corries today and climbed The Headhunter in Coire an Lochain followed by a wander across to t-Sneachda for a quick solo of Aladdin’s Mirror Direct.  Tony says, “Not much rime low down in the corries today, hence the trek up to the top of Lochain.  There a good amount of snow on the ledges and the icy routes look good at the minute but it was starting to get a bit warm as we left. There were a few other offerings available, Helena and Becky made a leisurely ascent of The Message on Mess of Pottage but much of the rest of that crag was very black.”
