I am currently still in the Alps. Yesterday we were cascade climbing in the Arolla valley near Pension Lac Bleu. There are a number of icefalls in good condition in this area with both short and long approaches. At the parking spot is an excellent gite with a very large selection of Belgian beers (so Andy tells me).
Today i have been skiing at Saint Gervais. Snow cover is excellent. It was however very cold. It is currently snowing heavily so powder skiing should be good again tomorrow. I am heading to La Grave to do a course with the European Avalanche School. The snow cover is also currently good in La Grave.
