Thursday 17th January

Today Damo and i headed out ski touring. We intended on heading to the Ben Lawers area but could not get up Glen Ogle due to snowfall. Therefore, we headed to the corrie on the west of Ben Vorlich from Glen Ample. We found some excellent snow conditions from around 350m for both skinning up and skiing down.

We did not have time to head for the summit of Ben Vorlich but the descent from the summit in a westerly direction looks amazing at the moment. With conditions like these who needs the Alps. All we need now is the mountain huts, the coffee and the wine!

Bomber Harris and Glenn climbed Dorsal Arete in Stob Coire Nan Lochain today reporting good conditions and teams on lots of the other buttress routes.  All teams were avoiding the gullys.
